Swan Lake is iconic, emotive and everlasting.
Danced to Tchaikovsky's stellar music played live, this new Swan Lake reimagines the classic story, staying true to its dramatic power but giving Odette back her voice in a world that tries to deny her. Having been brought up as a swan, Odette’s transformation back into a young woman brings love and heartbreak as her mother seeks to use her to take revenge on the King who usurped her throne.
Choreographed by Rachel Beaujean, and with lush sets and costumes by Colin Richmond (Northern Ballet’s Merlin) you can experience the timeless elegance of Swan Lake with a fresh Northern Ballet twist.
Swan Lake is a co production with Ballet de l’Opéra National de Bordeaux.
