International Summer Intensive
Intermediate Level
For students 12 – 16 years
Our Intermediate Summer Intensive 1 week course gives students an opportunity to train intensively in the Academy’s unique training methods with Northern Ballet’s renowned teaching staff.
Intensive Dates: 25 July - 30 July 2022 (9am - 2pm approximately)
Course Fee: £250
Entry Requirements: This course is suitable for students with 2 years ballet experience aged between 12 and 16 years of age at the time of the course. This course is non-residential.
Application Process: Applicants must complete the online application form. As required, a video link must be submitted as part of the application*. Place will be offered on a rolling basis. Applicants will be notified of their outcome by email.
*Students attending a full time vocational ballet school do not need to complete a video link.
Video Requirements: Video links should be uploaded via YouTube or Vimeo. Please ensure your viewing permissions are set so we can view your footage. Your video should be 4 mins max and should include footage of you dancing the following.
Please do not worry if you are unable to film in a dance studio, if it isn't possible; a small space at home is also suitable.

Senior Level
For students 16 – 19 years
Northern Ballet’s renowned International Summer Intensive 2022 offers aspiring dancers the opportunity to take part in a course designed to give a unique insight and experience of life as a professional dancer, as participants mirror the lives of Northern Ballet’s Company Dancers. Students will attend a timetable of daily technique and enhancement classes helping to prepare students ahead of professional auditions. Students will also have the opportunity to observe Company Rehearsals.
Intensive Dates:
Week 1 - 1-5 August 2022 (9am - 3.30pm approx)
Week 2 - 8-12 August 2022 (9am - 3.30pm approx)
Students can attend 1 or 2 weeks of summer intensive training. Please select your dates on the application form where indicated.
Course Fee:
1 week: £315
2 weeks: £565
Entry Requirements: This course is suitable for students currently attending full time classical vocational ballet training aged between 16-19 years of age at the time of the course. This course is non-residential.
Application Process: Applicants must complete the online application form. Applicants will be notified of their outcome by email following the closing date.
On occasion applicants may be asked to submit a short video as part of their application in order to review an application and dance training in full.
Application Dates: Applications open Monday 28 March 2022 - Monday 30 May 2022
All applicants will be contacted with the outcome of their application by Saturday 4 June 2022.
Accommodation
Our Summer Intensives are non-residential. We have partnered with Unite Student Accommodation at Clarence Dock Village (10 minute walk to NB) who are offering accommodation to our students for the duration of the course. Booking will be done directly through Unite and rooms start from £136 per week. Students under 16 must stay with a parent/guardian. Full details on booking will be shared with successful applicants.
