Harry is from Athens, Greece. He began dancing at a local ballet school before moving to the UK to train at Elmhurst Ballet School. As a student, he worked with Birmingham Royal Ballet and Aalto Ballett Theater Essen in Germany before going on to work with Opera Wrocławska, Poland from 2017 to 2021. He joins Northern Ballet in 2022.

Where were you born and raised?

I was was born and raised in Athens, Greece

At what age did you start dancing?

I started dancing as a hobby at the age of 7

Where did you train?

I trained locally in Athens before moving to the U.K. at the age of 15 to train at Elmhurst Ballet School in Birmingham

Career/training highlights

I have always wanted to work for one of the major ballet companies in the U.K., so getting a job at Northern Ballet has definitely been the highlight so far

What do you like most about being a dancer?

For me it is the love of the relationship between music and dance. These two art forms mutually compliment and elevate each other; getting lost in it all is the best feeling

If you could adapt one work into a ballet what would it be?

Schubert’s 9th Symphony The Great would be a fantastic work to choreograph in its entirety

What is your favourite book?

One of my favourite books is The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides; the most engaging psychological thriller I have read

What is your favourite post-show meal?

It would definitely be something high in protein. A burger would often be one of my go-to’s

How do you like to relax?

My favourite way to relax is to do some Yin Yoga at the end of the day just before going to bed. I find it relaxing both physically and mentally
