

This masterclass will leave you feeling festive with an opportunity to learn original choreography from David Nixon OBE’s The Nutcracker and refine your technique with our world-class teachers.
The pop-up is suitable for dancers aged between 10 and 15 with at least 2 years of ballet experience who regularly attend ballet classes.
Ages 10-12 — 10.15am – 1.45pm
Ages 10-12 — 9.15am – 12.45pm
Ages 13-15 — 9.30am - 1pm
The pop-up will consist of a warm up, technique class and repertoire from The Nutcracker. Students will be filmed performing The Nutcracker choreography and this will be available for parents/carers to view online after the event. Places are limited so do not miss out and book your place now!

Vicky originally trained at Tindles Dance & Drama Studios. At 16 she went to Central School of Ballet, performing with Ballet Central in venues all around the UK.
In 2003 Vicky joined Northern Ballet Theatre and performed with Northern Ballet for 15 years. Vicky created roles such as Mrytle (The Great Gatsby, David Nixon OBE) Madame Pompadour (Casanova, Kenneth Tindall) Madame Bonacieux (The Three Musketeers, David Nixon OBE), La Fee Magnifique (Beauty & the Beast, David Nixon OBE) Lead Prole (1984, Jonathan Watkins), interrogation lady (Hamlet, David Nixon OBE), Bertha (Jane Eyre, Cathy Marston).
Vicky also got to perform such roles as Lady Capulet (Romeo and Juliet, Massimo Moricone), Mrs Fezzywig (Christmas Carol, Massimo Moricone), Gertrude (Hamlet, David Nixon OBE) and many more! Vicky worked with choreographers including Dame Gillian Lynne and performed work by Wayne McGregor. Vicky also helped create many pieces with choreographer Kenneth Tindall. In 2018 Vicky retired from Northern Ballet joined the Academy teaching faculty on our Graduate and Open Programmes.
Nic was born in the picturesque town of Todi, in central Italy. His passion for ballet started at the age of four, when he enrolled into his Aunt's ballet school. At the age of 16 Nic began training at the English National Ballet School in London. Following his graduation he joined Peter Schaufuss Bal-let in Denmark, where he performed in many productions including Marilyn, The King, and The Boys from Liverpool.
In 2010 Nic joined Northern Ballet and danced in numerous productions and roles, including Puck in Midsummer Night’s Dream, Nick in The Great Gatsby, the Nutcracker Prince, and Athos in The Three Musketeers, to name just a few. From the Leeds Grand and the Bradford Alhambra to the Royal Opera House and Sadler’s Wells, Nic’s career has been exciting to say the least. Working with choreographers and being involved in different projects, Nic has developed a huge passion for choreography and teaching. In 2016 Nic created his first ballet, Goldilocks and the Three Bears. This went on to tour nationally, and was broadcast on the BBC. In 2020 Nic retired from dancing to dedicate himself fully to teaching the next generation, he brings his experience as a performer to every class, delivering fun and insightful classes.
