Phoenix Dance Theatre presents a mixed programme featuring three of the most popular pieces from the company’s recent repertoire. Designed to reflect the very best of Phoenix on stage, this programme has been specially curated for a handful of dates at Phoenix’s intimate home venue.
The evening features three audience favourites, including two works by Phoenix Artistic Director Sharon Watson. Featuring a blend of soaring aerial dance and contemporary choreography, Melt first premiered to great acclaim in 2011. Watson’s latest piece for the company, Repetition of Change, is set to a specially commissioned score and uses dance to unravel our genetic code - taking the audience on a volatile journey through the fascinating world of DNA. The bill is completed by Henri Oguike’s unflinching, thrilling Signal, a fiery classic from 2004 that is driven by pounding Japanese Taiko drums.
With only a limited amount of seats available, don’t miss this chance to experience the power, beauty and intensity of Phoenix in the company’s state-of-the-art home.
The score for Repetition of Change, Forms Entangled, Shapes Collided by Kenneth Hesketh, was commissioned with funding from the RPS Drummond Fund for Phoenix and Psappha.
