Rick is from Wallingford in Oxford, UK and began playing for Northern Ballet in 1981, joining the Sinfonia full time in 1983.

Where did you train?

I trained at the Guildhall School of Music and then the Royal Northern College of Music and the University of Manchester.

Which orchestras have you have played for?

My best memories on tour have been with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonic, Northern Sinfonia and Northern Ballet (early years, Thessaloniki and Istanbul).

What's your favourite music to listen to?

I listen to piano music of Mozart, Bach, and Debussy.
